Honda Tohru
Honda Tohru is the main girl character in Fruits Basket. She's very bright and bubbly, she is willing to put others before herself. Tohru was born in the year of the dog (much to Shigure's delight) but she heard the story about the cat and wishes she was born in the 'Year of the Cat'. She is an orphan, who lost her father when she was very young and her mother in a car accident recently. She then resorted to living in a tent in the middle a forest, which turned out to be part of the Sohma estate. She then bumped into Shigure's house and it all started for her there, she got tangled up in the whole 'curse' thing of the Sohmas.
Hanajima Saki
Saki, or Hana is a very weird girl. She has some sort of psychic power and once during her younger years, she almost killed a boy. When she first learned of her power, she got extremely freaked. She distanced herself from other people, so she couldn't hurt them. She turned all goth-like to ward off people. Her family were very supportive and transferred her to a new school where she made friends with Tohru and Arisa.
Uotani Arisa
If there was a tough girl in school, it would be Arisa - or Uo. She had a very bad past, like her mother eloping with another man and her father becoming an alchoholic. This led to her becoming an aggressive gang member. Her hero was Tohru's mother, Kyoko, who was an infamous gang leader. When she heard about Kyoko's daughter going to some school, she went to see her. Instead of a gangster girl, she met a bright and bubbly Tohru. After that, she bumped into Tohru and her mother heaps of times, and became a better and better person. When she finally resigned as a gang member, she was beaten and Kyoko had to save her. Since then, the Honda family were like her family.
Tohru & Saki & Arisa
Tohru, Saki and Arisa share a really special and strong relationship. They are the best of friends and understand each other like they've known each other for their whole lives. The three might be completely different, but they fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. Tohru, Saki and Arisa are very close and protective of each other, Tohru would put them way before herself. Saki would send shockwaves down anyone's spine if they dared to be nasty to Tohru and Arisa would just slam a lead pipe on your desk and glare. As I said, 'special'.

I chose this name because Tohru, Uo and Hana's relationship seems to last an eternity. =D Simple.
